Origin of CindyModel

I was driving in my Caddy, must have been in the late of day
About a hundred miles from Dallas and I found I... lost my way.

Slowing down to find the sun so I could get my bearings down
Saw a young girl on her knees picking flowers ... I turned around.

I said, “I’m lost. My tank is empty and the sky looks like it’s turning dark.”
She said, “I can’t tell if you’re really worried or just out... on a lark.”

I don’t know if it was the twilight or the magic of how the cards were dealt
I was stunned by my own compulsion, and the way I... suddenly felt.

I pulled out my trusty Canon, and I told her, “Please, don’t move.”
While my fingers fairly fumbled she looked as though... to approve.

I showed her all the pictures, I had to know what she would have to say.
But all along the presentation, she'd be looking off... the other way.

Apologia

I get emails from aspiring talent, some wanting to know if I am interested in taking on a new model. Some live so far away that they just want to know something about the business and if it's right for their daughter. One girl knew she lived too far away for me to shoot her. She really just wanted to know how I got started with Cindy. I thought that was a reasonable question, but I was really unable to answer her in any normal way.
There are things that cannot be photographed nor put into words.  I knew I would do better by going a bit out of mind. So I wrote the poem above and sent it to her. She never asked me for an explanation. Either she got it or thought I was nuts. Both work fine for me. - Curt
